Types of Experiments

In Howuku Optimize, you can create five types of different tests:

1. A/B Testing:

This option lets you set up different versions of a webpage and host the changes on Howuku servers. It is typically used for testing minor changes in web page, such as images, text, or menus. You can create these changes using a visual editor or code editors.

2. A/A Testing:

This experiment type allows you to test your experiment setup before launching a comprehensive test. It is essentially a test where the original version of the page is compared against itself. The tests typically last for eight days, and by the end, the conversions should not depict any significant changes.

3. Content Personalization:

Howuku Optimize enables you to develop a customized page for a specific targeted audience segment. You can create these changes using a visual editor or code editors.

4. Split URL / Redirect Test:

This test allows you to compare different pages hosted on your site. In this test, you provide the original URL and the alternative (variation) URLs. Howuku redirects an equal proportion of the traffic to the new pages using a JavaScript redirect. It then monitors the conversion goals to determine the most successful page.

5. Multi-arm Bandit Test:

This test type dynamically adjusts the rates at which different variations are shown to visitors, based on their performance. It reduces the risk of choosing a poor-performing variant early in the test while still providing useful data on which variant performs best. Rather than splitting traffic equally, the multi-arm bandit test allocates more traffic to better-performing variations, optimizing for both exploration of variants and exploitation of the current winner.
